The leader of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), Hemant Soren, was reported as missing when an Enforcement Directorate (ED) team went to his home in Delhi to interrogate him regarding a money laundering inquiry. The JMM leadership denies the confusion surrounding his location and claims that Soren will appear before the agency on Wednesday. This incident stems from Soren’s 10th summons in a land fraud case, with previous questioning at his official house in Ranchi. The BJP’s Jharkhand unit has stated that the chief minister has been missing for 18 hours and expressed concerns about the “credibility and reputation of Jharkhand”. The Chief Minister’s Office has yet to comment on the situation, and the Governor has stated that he is monitoring the situation. The head of the Jharkhand Congress has expressed the belief that there is a conspiracy causing doubt over Soren’s location.
