Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently led a council of ministers meeting to discuss the ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ vision, which aims to transform India into a developed nation by 2047. The meeting focused on a 100-day action plan for the immediate steps to be taken if the NDA secures victory in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The vision incorporates economic growth, sustainable development goals, infrastructure development, and social welfare, with a goal of positioning India as the world’s third-largest economy in the next five years. The meeting was the final one before the elections, and the NDA expressed strong confidence in securing a decisive majority. The BJP has also unveiled its first list of 195 candidates for the upcoming elections, featuring prominent figures and emphasizing diversity with a significant number of women, scheduled caste, scheduled tribe, and other backward class candidates. The Viksit Bharat vision has been in the making for over two years, with extensive consultations and input from various stakeholders.
