The first meeting focused on Uttar Pradesh, with discussions on lost seats and a special strategy for certain key constituencies. The meeting also addressed the upcoming MLC elections. In the second phase, the West Bengal Core Group meeting discussed specific Lok Sabha seats and recent incidents of vandalism in Sandesh Khali. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to campaign in West Bengal and focus on 35 out of the 42 Lok Sabha seats in the state.
The Telangana Core Group meeting discussed the BJP’s plan to contest alone for 17 Lok Sabha seats in the state and strategies to win a majority in the 2024 elections. In Chhattisgarh, the BJP discussed fielding Schedule Tribes candidates in four seats and reviewed strategies for seats they lost in the previous elections. The core group meetings may be held again on February 27-28 to further discuss strategies.
In Rajasthan, a meeting of the core group discussed all 25 Lok Sabha seats in the state, with plans to declare candidates for 7-9 seats in the first list. The meetings were attended by key leaders from each state, including Chief Ministers, Deputy Chief Ministers, and other party officials.
