BJP Kisan Morcha chief announces ‘awareness campaign’ on government policies, amidst ongoing farmer protests

Must read

The Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) farmer wing Kisan Morcha is planning to carry out an extensive awareness campaign to educate farmers about the welfare policies of the Narendra Modi government. This initiative, called the ‘Gaon Parikrama Yatra’, aims to dispel the myth that the government has not done enough to meet the demand for better Minimum Support Price (MSP) for agricultural products. The campaign will reach out to 2 lakh villages across the country and seek suggestions from farmers on how the government can better support them in the future. The Modi government has implemented various measures for farmers, including the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, and Namo Drone Didi initiative. The Kisan Morcha chief also accused the Aam Aadmi Party, Congress, and the Left of infiltrating the current protests and creating anarchy for their own political motives. The party aims to hold meetings in villages to gather feedback from laborers and farmers, which will be forwarded to the BJP president and Modi in the form of a booklet. Leaflets and pamphlets carrying information about the government’s welfare schemes will also be distributed to the villagers. The ‘Gaon Parikrama Yatra’ comes just months before the general election, and the BJP is working towards securing a third term, with the aim of winning 370 of the country’s 543 parliamentary seats.
