Must read

Four people have been arrested in Karnataka for raising slogans of ‘Pakistan Zindabad’, including three in connection with Congress leader Syed Naseer Hussain’s victory celebrations and a BJP worker from Mandya district in a two-year-old case. The arrests came after national attention was drawn to the issue, with the BJP demanding action against those chanting pro-Pakistan slogans. The Karnataka home minister confirmed the arrests and said that the law would take its course. The BJP has accused the ruling Congress of appeasement politics and shielding pro-Pakistan sympathizers. The names of those arrested have not been released, and the FSL report has not been made public. The BJP has called for Hussain to not be administered the oath to Rajya Sabha until the probe is complete. The BJP has also faced embarrassment after a two-year-old clip surfaced of a party worker in Mandya chanting ‘Pakistan Zindabad’. Law enforcement is taking action in that case as well. The BJP has been using the pro-Pakistan slogans issue to criticize the Congress ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, claiming that the Congress is appeasing certain groups. The situation remains tense, with political parties on opposite sides of the issue as the investigation continues.
